What makes Tradehome different than other companies?

Tradehome Shoes is a privately held, employee-owned company, and in some ways, feels like a family run business. All current leaders of Tradehome have worked their way up from entry-level positions within the organization. Our leadership knows what management experiences go into running our stores, and understands all the facets of store management. We promote from within on a performance basis, not seniority, allowing us to stay ahead of the competition and retain the best personnel available. We can proudly say that we have some of the longest tenured managers in the retail industry, with a few being with us for over 30 years.

Management

As a Tradehome manager, you will feel like you are running your own business. Managers are responsible for the entire store’s operation: selling, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and other areas involved in running a business.

Tradehome will give guidance to the manager, but the majority of decisions come directly from the manager. A manager’s success or failure depends mostly on the following areas:

1

Sales ability and sales volume

2

Ability to hire and train quality people

3

Ability to

motivate staff

4

Organizational

How do I become a manager?

How do I become a manager?

Tradehome’s Management Development Program is a thorough, hands-on training program that teaches individuals management skills, sales skills, and operational skills. This period averages 12-24 months during which assistant managers work in-store to gain experience and training by some of our top managers. The training time depends on the progress and performance of the individual. Tradehome does not promote based on seniority but based on job performance. Assistant managers are required to relocate at the end of their training program in order to become a manager of their own store.

Growth

Tradehome will continue growing as we add more stores each year. We maintain progress in our expansion into new states and add more locations in our current states. Tradehome continues to seek out locations based on profitability and personnel.

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

Tradehome relies on the sweat equity, ideas and time of our employees. The ESOP rewards employees for their contributions to the success of Tradehome. According to the National Center for Employee Ownership, ESOP balances were three to five times higher on aver than 401(k) plans. The ESOP allows employees to benefit from increases in Tradehome’s value. Employees that understand that link work harder, which serves to increase Tradehome’s value, ultimately earning that reward back.
